The Shift of Alignment - A Spiritual Metamorphosis

May 31, 2026    Pastor Gerri Di Somma

This powerful teaching unveils the profound mystery of spiritual metamorphosis—the complete transformation that occurs when we receive Christ. At its heart lies the concept of 'remez,' the hidden meanings in Scripture that connect the Old Testament prophecies to their New Testament fulfillment. We journey through Psalm 22, written a thousand years before the crucifixion, and discover it contains astonishingly specific details about Christ's suffering—pierced hands and feet, garments divided by lots, bones out of joint—even though crucifixion hadn't been invented yet. The teaching reveals the stunning symbolism of the crimson worm mentioned in this psalm: when ready to give birth, this mother worm attaches herself to wood, forms a protective shell, and allows her babies to feed on her living body for three days before she dies, releasing a scarlet dye that permanently marks her offspring. On the fourth day, her body turns white as snow. This natural phenomenon perfectly mirrors Christ's sacrifice—He attached Himself to the wooden cross, His body became our sustenance, He rose on the third day, and His blood marks us as His own while making us white as snow. When Jesus said we must eat His flesh and drink His blood, He wasn't speaking literally but pointing to this incredible transformation where His divine nature becomes ours through faith. This is why communion is so sacred—it's not just remembrance but a celebration of the spiritual DNA transfer that occurred at Calvary, making us new creations with the very nature of God dwelling within us.
